Having been converted from a commercial office space, the property comprised a beautiful first floor apartment, complete with mezzanine.
The client was looking for a solution so which would allow them to retain the large open rooms with central kitchen without a protected lobby to the shared stairwell.
Retaining the open plan element was key to ensuring that the look and feel of the flat wasn’t compromised.
The property is an A-listed one, so therefore the limitations upon how much the property could be altered and the standards which needed to be upheld had to be considered.
None of the existing doors in the property were fire rated so we had to provide a solution which covered all habitable rooms.
The builders on this project were RedBuild and have finished off this property to a very high standard, so the solution provided could not jeopardise this.
